Who Are We?

Innovative winemaking, organic agriculture, a fair trade business model and outstanding value for money are the foundations of Stellar Organic Winery’s success in the competitive wine market.

Our winery and 14 independent producer farms make up the Stellar Winery Multi-Estate. The farms are located in the Lower Olifants River Valley from Trawal in the south up to Koekenaap, close to the mouth of the Olifants River on the West Coast. The area is part of the Olifants River Wine Route.

Certified organic since 2001 and Fair Trade since 2004, our fair trade organic and no--sulphur-added wines are consistently in high demand in the local and overseas markets.

Our Wines

Our wines are true to their Olifants River Valley origin: crisp, fruity whites from our cool-climate Koekenaap vineyards, juicy, aromatic rosés and delicious reds characterised by deep colour and berry flavours.

Wines made with no added sulphur are our speciality. Having produced these wines commercially since 2004 we are the acknowledged world leaders in this category. Upmarket South African retailer Woolworths is a long-time stockist of our no-sulphur-added range under their own-brand Woolworths Organic label.

Our award winning Heaven on Earth natural sweet dessert wine is made from Muscat d’Alexandrie grapes partially-dried on Rooibos tea and straw. The wine is light in the mouth and has delicate flavours of roses and apricots, held together by wisps of Rooibos. This heavenly wine is delicious splashed into our sparkling wine, as a chilled aperitif, as a replacement for dessert or after dinner with cheese.

The quality of our wines is not negotiable. Apart from ensuring that winemaking standards are maintained at a premium, we monitor wine quality by entering prestigious local and international wine competitions. Since their launch in 2001, Stellar wines have consistently featured as medal winners.
